Delivery to the US and Canada

Buying a Defender from a builder in Europe is a big step, so we’ve made the route to North America as clear as we can. We handle the truck from our workshop to your driveway, and our North American partner Brad takes care of the import and registration at your end. He has brought Defenders into both Canada and the US.

Is the truck eligible?

United States: a vehicle can be imported once it is 25 years old, counted to the month it was built. Every truck we offer to US buyers clears that rule, and we check its build date before it is ever loaded.

Canada: vehicles 15 years and older are exempt from Canada’s modern safety and emission standards, which is why Defenders from the 1980s through the early 2000s can be imported and registered.

What your quote includes

Your quote includes an estimate of import duties and taxes, so you know what to expect at the border. Ocean freight is quoted at the time of sale, because shipping rates change from month to month. Marine insurance is always included, at no charge.

How it works

1. See it before you buy. We walk you around the truck on a live video call and show you anything you want to see, underneath included. You also get the full build record.

2. Agree the deal. A written sales agreement sets out the truck, the price, the payment schedule and the delivery date.

3. Prepare for export. We steam clean the truck, including the underside, because both US and Canadian border inspections reject vehicles carrying soil. We prepare the export paperwork and confirm the truck’s eligibility before loading.

4. Insured shipping. Every truck crosses the Atlantic insured for its full retail value with marine insurance, included at no charge. It isn’t optional, and you never pay extra for it.

5. Customs and import. We act as importer of record and handle the customs paperwork, duties and taxes, so you aren’t left dealing with brokers and border forms.

6. Registration and delivery. Brad receives the truck, deals with the safety inspection and registration documents, and delivers it to you.

Insured across the Atlantic

Every truck crosses the ocean with marine insurance at its full retail value, included at no charge. If anything happens at sea, you are covered for what the truck is worth, not just what it would cost to ship.
