Buying a Defender from someone you’ve never met, often in another country, is a leap of faith. We know, because most of our clients have done exactly that. Here’s how it works, so there are no surprises.
Two ways to buy
A truck that’s ready, or nearly ready. Browse what’s available now. Each truck has a full spec sheet, and most have a build story showing every stage of the work.
A Defender built for you. Tell us what you have in mind, and we’ll find the right truck and build it to your spec.
How it works
1. A conversation. Tell us what you’re looking for. No pressure, no sales script.
2. A private walk-around. We show you the truck on a live video call, underneath included, and answer every question. If you’d like a second opinion, you’re welcome to send an independent inspector of your choice to see it in person.
3. A spec sheet and a written contract. Exactly what’s being built, the price and the payment schedule, agreed and signed before any money moves.
4. Payments that follow progress. Your first payment gets the ball rolling: it secures the truck and starts the work. Further payments are tied to real milestones, like paint, the engine rebuild and parts, and every stage is documented with photos so you can see where your money has gone.
5. Proof of life. When the truck is finished, you see it running on video before it ships.
6. Final payment on acceptance. The last payment is due only once the truck has been delivered and you’ve inspected and accepted it.
Buying a truck that’s already built, or nearly finished? It’s simpler still: a modest reservation once the payment terms are agreed, and the balance on a schedule that suits, sometimes all on delivery.
Your money stays close to home
Buyers in Europe contract and pay in Europe. Buyers in North America contract and pay in Canada, under Canadian law. Either way, your agreement sits under laws you know, and your money never disappears into an overseas account you can’t reach.
Protected if it’s not right
The truck stays ours, and our risk, until you’ve inspected and accepted it. If it isn’t as described, or has a genuine mechanical problem, your contract protects you. Every contract is agreed with you individually and set out in writing before you pay anything. A sample contract is available on request.
Built to be kept.
Where your money goes
Into the truck. There’s no showroom, no sales team and no marketing department. We’re owner-operators, so what you pay for is the work: the restoration, the parts, and years of knowing exactly where these trucks fail and how to put that right.
You won’t be the first
Several clients have bought from us without ever meeting us in person. Some will admit to a nervous moment after sending their deposit. All of them would tell you it was worth it, and many would be happy to tell you directly. References are available on request.
